Happy New Year! Happy National Hot Tea Month! Posted on 22 Jan 13:37
Point Loma Tea Patrons,
Did you know that January is the month to celebrate hot tea? The Tea Council of the USA, founded in 1950, recognizes National Hot Tea Month every January. And for North America, January 12 marks the fourth annual National Hot Tea Day. If you didn't know, now you know the T! We’d love to share some interesting facts about the world's most consumed beverage.
Besides being delicious, hot tea can be a healing elixir. Here are just a few of the many benefits of regular tea consumption, according to the Tea Association of the USA:
The T on White Tea
White tea is the least processed of all types of tea, which all come from the same plant Camellia sinensis. That means white tea has the least amount of caffeine out of all the tea types (the others are green, oolong, and black), and it’s full of antioxidants. White tea is packed with a special type of antioxidant called polyphenols, which have anti-inflammatory benefits and may help treat digestion issues.
White Teas We Carry
At Point Loma Tea, we carry Ginger Peach, Melon Pear, Strawberry Fields, White Chai, White Peony, and Silver Needle (it’s a favorite of Cheryl’s, the owner and founder!). There are slight nuances between each one, but most white teas are described as light, delicate, and slightly sweet.
Our Fivestar loyalty club members* already know this, but we have a special promotion for the entire month of January!
White Tea special! All white accessories and white teas are 10% off until 1/31.
*Fivestar members also get the inside scoop on weekly Point Loma Tea specials. If you’re interested in becoming one, just let us know the next time you stop by! We give you a special bonus when you sign up for the first time.
And coming up next month…
